Background

Behind the menu plays your background video — muted and on a loop. It is uncovered by the intro as the logo flies to its corner.

Features

• Any MP4 under ui/media/ or a full address
• Start second — skip a clip's fade from black; the video loops back to the same second
• Dim — an even darkening so what sits on top stays readable, plus a soft extra shade in the top-left corner where the logo settles
• Vignette — a light darkening creeping in from all four edges

Tip

The game's browser has no hardware video decoding, so the clip is decoded on the processor the game is loading on. 1080p costs about a fifth of a core for as long as the screen is up, 720p about half of that. A short 720p loop is the kindest choice for players on weaker machines, and looks the same behind the dim and the vignette.
